Repligen Posts Record Revenue, Raises Full-Year Guide and Closes BioLife Deal
A record quarter and a closed cell-therapy deal let the bioprocessing supplier raise its 2026 outlook despite a large one-time impairment charge.
Repligen reported record third-quarter revenue of $209 million and raised its full-year revenue guidance to $844 million to $852 million.
Repligen Corporation reported its third-quarter results on Oct. 27, 2026. The quarter covered the three months ended Sept. 30, 2026.
Adjusted results are the company's non-GAAP measures, which strip out one-time items. Reported results follow generally accepted accounting principles.
A record quarter, with an impairment in the reported line
Revenue was $209.3 million, up 11% as reported from $188.8 million a year earlier. Organic growth was 12.5%, excluding deals, divestitures and currency effects.
Adjusted earnings were $0.53 a share, up from $0.46 a year earlier. Adjusted net income was $29.9 million, against $25.9 million a year earlier.
Zacks reported a consensus estimate of $0.46 a share. Repligen beat that tally by $0.07 a share, a TickerGrove calculation.
Zacks also said revenue topped its consensus estimate by 1.30%.
The reported line looked very different. Repligen posted a net loss of $38.4 million, or a loss of $0.68 a share.
Loss from operations was $29.5 million. A year earlier it earned $14.9 million, or $0.26 a share.
The swing mainly reflects an intangible asset impairment charge of $41.2 million. An impairment charge writes down the value of an acquired asset.
"We delivered a record third quarter," said President and Chief Executive Olivier Loeillot. He cited continued strength across the diversified portfolio.
Loeillot said end-market demand continues to improve. He pointed to healthy consumables and services trends and a growing capital equipment order book.
Margins held while adjusted profit rose
Gross margin was 53.0%, against 53.2% a year earlier. Adjusted operating margin widened to 15.9%, from 14.2%.
Adjusted income from operations was $33.3 million, against $26.8 million a year earlier.
Adjusted EBITDA was $43.8 million, with a margin of 20.9%. EBITDA is earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization.
Cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities were $863 million at Sept. 30. That compared with $768 million at Dec. 31, 2025.
Operating cash flow was $104.2 million through the first nine months.
BioLife closes and moves into the outlook
Repligen completed its acquisition of BioLife Solutions in October. The release dates the closing to Oct. 6, 2026, in its guidance section.
BioLife adds a consumables platform for cell therapy. Consumables are products used up in manufacturing rather than kept as equipment.
The company said the platform brings recurring revenue and commercial-stage exposure. Repligen expects the combination to enhance long-term growth, margins and earnings power.
"Integration is progressing well," Loeillot said. He said the company has already taken actions to realize a sizable portion of its expected operating expense synergies.
Repligen also opened a training and innovation center in Seoul on Oct. 23, 2026. It called South Korea one of the world's leading hubs for biologics manufacturing.
Full-year guidance rises, with BioLife inside it
Repligen raised full-year revenue guidance to $844 million to $852 million. The prior range, set in July, was $813 million to $835 million.
The new range implies reported growth of 14.5% to 15.5%. Organic growth guidance is 12% to 13%.
The midpoint is $848 million, a TickerGrove calculation. That is $24 million above the prior midpoint, also a TickerGrove calculation.
Adjusted earnings guidance is $2.05 to $2.09 a share. Adjusted net income guidance is $119 million to $122 million.
The guidance includes BioLife from its Oct. 6 closing date. It assumes a neutral currency impact.
It also assumes about a 2.5-point tailwind from inorganic growth, mainly BioLife. Inorganic growth is growth added by deals rather than existing business.
Adjusted operating income guidance is $135 million to $139 million. Gross margin guidance is 53.7% to 54.2%, with an adjusted EBITDA margin near 21%.
What remains unknown
What remains unknown is how much revenue BioLife contributes in the fourth quarter, because the release gives no separate BioLife figure. Also unknown is whether another impairment follows, after this quarter's $41.2 million charge. What to watch is fourth-quarter revenue against the raised range, BioLife integration updates, and any detail on the impaired asset. The verified record is clear on the quarter itself: organic demand set a revenue record, adjusted profit rose, and a one-time charge drove the reported loss.
