Nvidia to Invest $3 Billion in Meta as the Two Expand Their Muse AI Partnership
The chipmaker's stake ties its money to a major agent customer, while Meta lines up more Nvidia systems to run Muse at lower cost.
Nvidia will invest $3 billion in Meta's equity offering and work more closely on Muse, Meta's personal AI assistant.
NVIDIA and Meta announced the expanded partnership on Oct. 27, 2026. The announcement came a day after Meta launched its stock offerings.
TickerGrove reported the priced terms of those offerings earlier on Tuesday. This announcement adds a buyer and a technology plan that pricing did not carry.
Money follows the machinery
In addition, NVIDIA will invest $3 billion in Meta's equity offering.
The investment is inside the offering, not a separate purchase price. The release does not say which tranche Nvidia will buy.
It also gives no share count or price for Nvidia's stake. Readers should not treat the stake as priced on any single tranche's terms.
Reuters reported that Meta increased its total equity offering to $97.5 billion, the largest fundraising in its history.
That total is a program figure, not cash raised at pricing. It counts the priced offerings plus the planned Class C program Meta announced on Monday.
What Muse is, and why Nvidia wants it faster
The companies said Muse models and agents already run on Nvidia infrastructure. The expanded work aims to improve inference and training performance.
Inference is the work of running a trained model to answer users. Training is the earlier work of building the model itself.
Reuters reported that Muse is known internally as Hatch. It sits at the center of Mark Zuckerberg's plan for personal superintelligence.
Reuters said Muse is modeled on OpenClaw, an open-source AI agent. It can reach a user's email, calendar, payments, health, shopping and smart-home apps.
Users can revoke that access at any time, Reuters said. The companies have offered no new usage or revenue figures for Muse in this announcement.
The two companies will partner on optimizations across workflows. Their stated goals are maximum performance and a lower total cost of ownership.
"AI agents represent a new computing paradigm — software that understands our goals, reasons, uses tools and gets work done on our behalf," said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA.
"Muse is how we bring personal superintelligence to everyone," said Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Meta.
More Nvidia hardware inside Meta's next agent systems
Meta intends to expand its deployment of Nvidia infrastructure. That includes Vera Rubin systems and Vera CPUs for next-generation AI agents.
The stated aim is maximum performance per watt. Performance per watt measures computing work against the electricity it consumes.
Meta will also deploy Spectrum-X Ethernet networking and BlueField-4. The companies say those tools support network efficiency and throughput.
Guardrails are part of the plan, not an afterthought
The companies will also consider more work on Nvidia's OpenShell reference architecture. OpenShell supports safe deployment, the release said.
Sentry monitors how agents behave. That monitoring covers agent behavior, not just system uptime.
That part is under consideration, not agreed. The release says the companies will consider the OpenShell and Sentry work, while the hardware expansion is stated as an intention.
The distinction matters because Muse can reach sensitive apps, from payments to health. Monitoring and safe deployment decide how much access users should grant an agent.
What remains unknown
What remains unknown is which tranche Nvidia buys, at what price, and how many shares its $3 billion purchases. Nvidia's own forward-looking notice treats the investment's completion and closing conditions as open.
Also unknown is the scale and timing of the Vera Rubin deployment inside Meta. The release gives no system counts, delivery dates or spending figures for the expansion.
Readers should watch whether the OpenShell and Sentry work moves from consideration to an agreement. No market reaction is reported here, because no single verified snapshot was checked for this announcement.
