Foxconn tops NT$1 trillion in monthly sales for the first time as AI servers drive a record quarter

Third-quarter sales jumped 47% to a record, beating analyst estimates on demand for AI servers. The shares jumped at Tuesday's open in Taipei, then gave back most of the gain.

Based on Foxconn's September 2026 monthly revenue report and its second-quarter 2026 results release; wire, Quartz and Central News Agency reports on Monday's figures and Tuesday's Taipei close; and cnbc.com market data.

Foxconn released these unaudited revenue figures on Monday, October 5, 2026, after the Taipei market closed. Share prices are Taipei closing prices on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. U.S. dollar amounts are TickerGrove conversions at Monday's closing rate of about NT$31.7 per dollar.

What “Source checked” means

For the first time, Foxconn booked more than NT$1 trillion of revenue in a single month. Hon Hai Precision Industry, as the Taiwanese company is formally known, said on Monday that September revenue reached NT$1.16 trillion, about US$36.5 billion, up 38% from a year earlier. That month carried the company to a record third quarter.

Revenue for July through September was NT$3.03 trillion, or about US$95 billion, up 47% from a year earlier and 20% from the second quarter. Analysts had expected less: the consensus estimate compiled by LSEG was NT$2.83 trillion. By TickerGrove's arithmetic, the result came in about 7% above it. Revenue for the first nine months of the year was NT$7.67 trillion, up nearly 40%.

These are unaudited sales figures filed with the Taiwan Stock Exchange, not full results. Profit comes later, with the third-quarter report on November 12.

The dollar amounts here are TickerGrove's conversions at Monday's closing rate of about NT$31.7 per U.S. dollar. Measured in dollars, the company said, third-quarter growth was smaller, at 39.7%, because the Taiwan dollar is weaker than it was a year ago.

The server business did the heavy lifting

September's NT$1.16 trillion was well above the previous monthly high of NT$946.5 billion, set in July. August came in at NT$921.8 billion. So the jump was not a steady climb. It was one very large month.

Foxconn sorts its business into four segments, and it said all four grew from a year earlier in the quarter. The strongest push came from cloud and networking products, the unit that builds AI servers. The company credited "pull-in momentum for AI products," manufacturing shorthand for customers asking for shipments sooner. Foxconn is Nvidia's biggest server maker, and it also assembles iPhones for Apple.

The company had flagged a strong quarter in August. Reporting second-quarter results, it said July through September should bring "significant quarter-on-quarter growth and strong year-on-year growth," and that its Vera Rubin server racks would enter mass production during the quarter. Rotating Chief Executive Michael Chiang said then that AI rack shipments should more than double this year.

Consumer electronics, the segment that includes iPhones, grew significantly from a year earlier over the quarter. The September picture was more mixed. That segment rose strongly from August on what the company called a new product launch in the month, and analysts cited by Taiwan's Central News Agency pointed to Apple's iPhone 18 series. But Foxconn described September consumer-electronics sales as "flattish" compared with a year earlier.

A record quarter, a muted close

Foxconn released the figures after Monday's session in Taipei, where its shares had closed up 1.2%. On Tuesday they opened at NT$263, 3.5% above Monday's close of NT$254, and touched NT$266.50 before fading to finish at NT$256, up 0.8%. The broader Taiwan market rose 0.2%, and chipmaker TSMC gained 0.4%.

Strong sales have not made for a strong stock this year. Through Monday, Foxconn shares were up about 10% in 2026, against a 72% rise for the Taiwan market. Tuesday's close left them about 18% below the year's high of NT$314, reached in June.

Revenue is also only half the story for a contract manufacturer. In the second quarter, Foxconn earned operating profit of NT$94.8 billion on NT$2.53 trillion of revenue, an operating margin of 3.75%. The November 12 report will show how much of the third quarter's sales growth reached the bottom line.

What Foxconn said about the fourth quarter

Foxconn does not give numerical forecasts. It said AI-related operations should keep growing in the fourth quarter, and that together with the traditional second-half peak season for information and communications technology products, this "should support overall performance in line with current market expectations." It added a caveat: "it remains necessary to monitor the impact of a volatile global political and economic environment."

The next data point is October revenue, due on November 5, a week before the full quarterly results.

Foxconn's AI server boom gives it a record quarter of sales

Foxconn, also called Hon Hai, is the giant Taiwanese company that builds electronics for other brands, including Nvidia's AI servers and Apple's iPhones. On Monday it said its sales topped NT$1 trillion in a single month, September, for the first time, and that sales for July through September jumped 47% from a year earlier to a record. Its shares rose only slightly on Tuesday.

All four segments up y/y in Q3; cloud and networking led on AI pull-ins; consumer electronics flattish y/y in September. What the revenue report does not show

Monthly revenue reports do not include profit, margins or segment sales in currency terms; Foxconn described each segment's growth only in words. It has not said how much of the quarter's revenue came from AI servers, how September's orders pulled forward will affect later months, or how its margins held up. The company will give full third-quarter results on November 12.
