Heartland Express returns to a $1.0 million profit as its operating ratio improves to 98.7%
Operating revenue fell to $179.5 million from $196.5 million a year earlier, while a 500 basis point improvement in the truckload carrier's operating ratio turned an $8.3 million loss into a small profit.
