TypeSafe AI company blog dated Oct. 9, 2026 on the Series A; Andreessen Horowitz investing note the same day; SiliconANGLE confirmation of the $870 million raise at a $7.5 billion valuation.
TypeSafe AI said Friday it raised $870 million in a Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz at a $7.5 billion valuation, backing Jev, the company's model for handing typed decisions straight into software rather than free-form text.
The round
TypeSafe's company post dated Oct. 9 said the Series A was led by Andreessen Horowitz, with Sequoia Capital, existing investor DCVC, and angel investors also participating. A footnote on the same page put the raise at $870 million and the valuation at $7.5 billion, and said Martin Casado is joining the board.
SiliconANGLE independently reported the same $870 million raise at a $7.5 billion valuation, naming Andreessen Horowitz as lead with Sequoia, DCVC, and unnamed angels. The outlet said the cash arrives less than a month after TypeSafe launched Jev.
Andreessen Horowitz published a matching Oct. 9 note saying it is leading the investment in TypeSafe. The firm did not restate the dollar size in the body of that post; the company and SiliconANGLE supply the $870 million and $7.5 billion figures.
What Jev is for
Jev is built for short, structured answers that software can use without first parsing a paragraph of model prose. Andreessen Horowitz said the model returns a typed value to the calling code, and that the outputs are small enough that TypeSafe does not bother charging for them. SiliconANGLE said applications can ask for the equivalent of a yes-or-no answer, a pick from a list, or a customizable score — for example rating the severity of a cybersecurity alert or the urgency of a support ticket.
On cost and speed, Andreessen Horowitz said Jev runs at roughly 1/100 to 1/500 the cost of frontier models and is 100 times faster on classification tasks at comparable accuracy. The firm also said Jev reached 1 trillion tokens generated within three days of launch — language it called the fastest growth it has seen for a model.
TypeSafe said about a third of the Fortune 500 are already using Jev. Andreessen Horowitz separately put Fortune 500 integration at 25%. Neither disclosure named customers.
How the money is supposed to be used
SiliconANGLE said Jev is the first model in a planned System One series, and that TypeSafe intends to use the proceeds to expand that lineup and add enterprise features for large organizations. TypeSafe's own post similarly promised more machine-native models and enterprise features, without publishing a product roadmap or a hiring plan.
Andreessen Horowitz identified Diogo Almeida as TypeSafe's founder and chief executive. The company did not disclose prior round sizes, total capital raised to date, or any public-listing timetable, and it did not clarify whether the $7.5 billion figure is pre-money or post-money.
