Treasury 10-year yield stood at 4.69% on 08-20-2026

The 2-year was 4.19% on the same official par-curve row. The 0.50-point gap is subtraction, not a traded note.

What “Source checked” means

On 08-20-2026, the Treasury 10-year constant-maturity yield was 4.69% and the 2-year was 4.19%. Subtract those two official prints and the gap is 0.50percentage point. That gap is arithmetic. It is not a live quote and it is not a traded note.

For that trade date, the official par curve put the 10-year at 4.69%, the 2-year at 4.19%, and the 30-year at 5.23%. The next Treasury daily row replaces 08-20-2026. This page does not update itself.

Treasury’s official par curve for 08-20-2026, shows a 10-year constant-maturity yield of 4.69% and a 2-year of 4.19%. The 30-year on the same row is 5.23%. Those inputs are indicative bids around 3:30 p.m. This story is fixed to that trade date and the data are delayed.

4.69 minus 4.19 equals 0.50percentage point. We show the subtraction. We do not treat that 0.50 as a separate official series or as a security you can buy.

A different official column, H.15 with release date 08-20-2026, reports a 10-year yield of 4.65% and an effective federal funds rate of 3.63% — both for 08-19-2026. FRED’s DGS10 reprint of 4.65% is the same 08-19-2026 observation. Leave those numbers on 08-19-2026. Do not average them with 08-20-2026.

CMT is a curve reading, not the bond in your account

A constant-maturity Treasury yield is interpolated onto a fixed tenor from the official par curve. It is not the coupon on whatever 10-year note happened to auction last. The 0.50percentage point figure on this page is 4.69 minus 4.19, shown as a calculation.

One row, one trade date

10-year CMT 4.69% and 2-year CMT 4.19% on 2026-08-20; 10s−2s = 0.50percentage point (shown calc). Open the Treasury August 2026 daily par-curve table. Read the 08-20-2026 row only. Do not drop in H.15 or FRED values from 08-19-2026 without changing the as-of.
