NextTrip fiscal second-quarter revenue falls 28% while the six-month total doubles
Second-quarter revenue of $546,687 was approximately 28% below the $757,648 reported a year earlier, while six-month revenue rose approximately 122% to $1,998,422. The figures are preliminary; net loss and cash go to a Form 10-Q.

NextTrip, Inc. Form 8-K Exhibit 99.1 filed October 15, 2026 (Item 2.02 results of operations, Item 7.01 Regulation FD disclosure, Item 9.01 exhibits), read from SEC EDGAR together with the company's October 15, 2025 results exhibit used for the year-earlier comparisons and the EDGAR filing index for the report's item and exhibit list.
NextTrip, Inc. Form 8-K Exhibit 99.1 filed October 15, 2026 covering preliminary results for the fiscal second quarter and six months ended August 31, 2026, with the October 15, 2025 results exhibit used for the year-earlier comparisons.
NextTrip, Inc. reported preliminary fiscal second-quarter revenue of $546,687 for the three months ended August 31, 2026, approximately 28% below the $757,648 reported for the same quarter a year earlier, while six-month revenue rose approximately 122% to $1,998,422. The travel-and-media company published the figures in a Form 8-K rather than a complete earnings report, and said operating expenses, net loss, loss per share and cash figures would come in its quarterly report.
Second-quarter revenue falls while the six-month total doubles
NextTrip reported revenue of $546,687 for its fiscal second quarter ended August 31, 2026, approximately 28% below the $757,648 it reported for the same quarter a year earlier. Chief Executive Officer Bill Kerby said second-quarter revenue was "below our expectations" because NextTrip made "a conscious decision to take the time needed to build a stronger foundation for future growth," putting enhancements to NextTrip Pro and the consolidation of JOURNY TV and GoUSA TV ahead of maximizing near-term revenue from what it already sells. The company calls the period the second quarter of fiscal 2027, and both it and the six-month period ended August 31, 2026.
The six-month figure moved the other way: revenue rose approximately 122% to $1,998,422 from $896,475 in the comparable prior-year period. The results are preliminary and were published in a Form 8-K rather than as a complete earnings report.
The two disclosed numbers also pin down the quarter the release does not break out. Subtracting the second quarter from the six-month total leaves about $1,451,735 of revenue in the fiscal first quarter ended May 31, 2026. Against the $138,827 that NextTrip reported for the fiscal first quarter of 2026, that is an increase of about 946%, computed from the company's own figures rather than disclosed as a line item. Sequentially, the second quarter was about 62% smaller than the implied first quarter.
The arithmetic is consistent with how the year-earlier comparison was built: the $138,827 and $757,648 reported for the two quarters of fiscal 2026 sum exactly to the $896,475 six-month base used in this release.
JOURNY TV advertising improves from a narrow base
NextTrip's media business supplies the operating narrative. After a July 2026 transition to a new advertising operations partner, "average monthly Samsung U.S. programmatic advertising revenue increased approximately 668% in the post-transition reporting period available to date" against the January-to-June 2026 monthly average, and the average cost per thousand advertising impressions rose nearly sixfold, the release says.
The company projects calendar-year 2026 Samsung U.S. programmatic advertising revenue nearly doubling from calendar-year 2025, and states that these figures relate exclusively to Samsung U.S. programmatic advertising rather than to total JOURNY TV or consolidated revenue. The full-year figure is a January-to-December projection sitting outside the fiscal-year reporting.
JOURNY TV itself reported more than 307 million viewing minutes for January through August 2026, an average of approximately 38 million minutes a month, across more than a dozen platforms in approximately 100 countries, with estimated potential reach above 250 million viewers. The company attaches a limit to that last number: "Potential distribution reach is distinct from measured viewers or viewing minutes". An August 2026 Elemental TV model puts approximately 56% of viewers at age 45 or older and approximately 36% in households earning $200,000 or more, against 23% for the modeled blended footprint, which the company presents as an audience-planning reference rather than a count of its viewers.
Deferred revenue and a $5 million pipeline that is not contracted
Deferred revenue, which reflects bookings the company has taken but not yet recognized, was approximately $1.2 million at the end of the quarter, "supported in part by continued cruise-booking activity", and the release cautions that it "is generally recognized when the related travel or service is fulfilled" rather than pointing to revenue in any particular future period. The cruise product NextTrip is assembling covers more than 10,000 sailings across more than 35 cruise lines.
Separately, the release says the company's direct sales organization has built "a pipeline of more than $5 million in potential new media advertising, sponsorship and strategic partnership opportunities over the four months" covered by an earlier JOURNY TV metrics update, and that those opportunities "are not contracted commitments or guaranteed revenue."
The Form 10-Q still has to carry the losses
This is not a full earnings report. The accompanying Form 8-K carries Item 2.02 on results of operations, Item 7.01 for Regulation FD disclosure and Item 9.01 for exhibits, and its only substantive exhibit is the release: there is no income statement, no balance sheet and no per-share figure in it. The company says complete financial results "including operating expenses, net loss, loss per share, cash and liquidity information" will appear in its quarterly report "to be filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission."
A year earlier the comparable release announced the filing of its Form 10-Q alongside the results; this one leaves the cost base, the reported loss and the cash balance to a document still to come.
NextTrip Pro, YADA and a November concert
The release sets out what management expects in the fiscal third quarter: launching NextTrip Pro's initial commercial offering and beginning advisor onboarding, expanding JOURNY TV advertising and programmatic monetization, deploying JOURNYGO across more programming, growing cruise, luxury, group and experiential travel bookings, and beginning contributions from YADA Commerce and NextTrip LIVE, whose first music concert is set for November. NextTrip says it expects operating activity to strengthen and ramp during the second half of fiscal 2027, and names advisor onboarding and booking activity, JOURNY TV audience and advertising metrics, JOURNYGO engagement and cruise and group-travel bookings as the indicators it will track.
