Imperial Oil Limited Form 8-K Exhibit 99.1, "Imperial to hold 2026 Third Quarter Earnings Call", filed October 20, 2026; and Imperial's second-quarter 2026 news release filed July 31, 2026, both via SEC EDGAR.
Reporting is based on Imperial's October 20, 2026 scheduling exhibit and its July 31, 2026 second-quarter release; no third-quarter 2026 figures have been published.
Imperial Oil Ltd. will report third-quarter 2026 results on the morning of Friday, October 30 and hold an earnings call at 9 a.m. MT the same day, according to a one-page exhibit filed with U.S. regulators on October 20, 2026. The notice contains no production, revenue or profit figures. The most recent quarterly numbers on file are estimated second-quarter net income of C$2.19 billion and refinery capacity utilization of 76 percent.
The exhibit names John Whelan, chairman, president and chief executive officer, and Peter Shaw, vice-president, investor relations, as the hosts. It says the webcast will be available for one year on Imperial's website, and that Whelan will offer brief remarks prior to taking questions from covering analysts.
A date, a webcast and a filing fallback
The document also addresses what happens if the U.S. filing system fails. The notice states: "In the event that the EDGAR system experiences technical difficulties, or the company is unable to successfully complete its Form 8-K earnings press release filing at the intended time". It then directs investors to Imperial's own website or to Canada's SEDAR+ system for the release. For a Calgary-based issuer whose shares are listed in Toronto and on the NYSE American, that fallback is practical rather than ceremonial: the date is fixed, but the venue for the numbers is not guaranteed to be the same one.
The second-quarter base, and the year-ago bar for October 30
Imperial's second-quarter release, published July 31, 2026, is the most recent full set of numbers. Imperial reported estimated second-quarter net income of C$2.19 billion, or C$4.52 a diluted share, up from C$949 million, or C$1.86, a year earlier. Cash flows from operating activities were C$2.7 billion, up from C$1.47 billion a year earlier.
Those second-quarter figures are the sequential base. The year-over-year comparison on October 30 will run against the third quarter of 2025, when net income was C$539 million, or C$1.07 a diluted share, according to the quarterly net income history in Attachment V of the same release.
Volumes fell. Upstream production averaged 414,000 gross oil-equivalent barrels per day, down from 427,000 a year earlier, which the company attributed to lower volumes at Kearl and Syncrude. Refinery throughput averaged 331,000 barrels per day and capacity utilization was 76 percent, against 87 percent a year earlier, as planned turnaround work at the Strathcona refinery cut runs.
Imperial cut its 2026 refinery guidance in that release, to 370,000-380,000 barrels per day and 85%-88% utilization from 395,000-405,000 barrels per day and 91%-93%, "to reflect unplanned downtime, and a short-term rail logistic challenge at Strathcona". Whelan said: "Having safely completed our heaviest planned turnaround quarter, we anticipate strong volumes and overall performance in the second half of 2026 across our integrated business". The release goes on to say that the outlook supports robust free cash flow generation.
Capital returns continued. Imperial paid C$421 million in dividends during the second quarter, declared a third-quarter dividend of 87 cents per share, and renewed a normal course issuer bid for up to 24,179,635 common shares, or five percent of its shares outstanding, with a plan to complete purchases before year end.
Three tests for the October 30 release
First, whether third-quarter throughput and utilization recover enough to keep the reduced 2026 ranges intact, or whether the Strathcona rail constraint outlasted the turnaround. Second, whether Imperial revises the 2026 ranges again; the July revision cited unplanned downtime and a rail problem the company said was targeted for resolution by year end, so the fourth-quarter implication depends on what the third quarter shows. Third, whether the issuer bid is finished, which would end the repurchase programme early.
Neither document carries analyst estimates, so the release cannot be scored here as a beat or a miss. What the notice does establish is timing: the next set of Imperial numbers, and the first look at how the refiner performed after its heaviest planned turnaround quarter, arrives on the morning of October 30.
