Airtel Money priced its London listing at £1.96 a share and said conditional dealings were due to start on the London Stock Exchange on Oct. 9, 2026, valuing the Airtel Africa mobile-money business at about £5.3 billion, or roughly $7 billion.
Airtel Mobile Commerce N.V., which trades as Airtel Money, published final offer details on Oct. 9 that restated the Oct. 1 offer price of £1.96 a share. At that price the company said its market capitalisation would be £5.3 billion, or about $7.0 billion. Conditional dealings on the Main Market were expected to begin at 8:00 a.m. London time under the ticker AMC. Admission to the Financial Conduct Authority's Official List and the start of unconditional dealings are expected at 8:00 a.m. on Oct. 14. Trades before Admission are at buyers' and sellers' risk if listing does not happen.
The offer is a secondary sale. Minority shareholders are selling 270 million existing shares. Airtel Africa plc, the telecom parent, said it is not selling Airtel Money shares in the offer and expects to remain a long-term strategic shareholder. Airtel Money will have 2.7 billion shares outstanding immediately after Admission. Mastercard Asia/Pacific Pte. Ltd. may sell up to another 27 million shares under an over-allotment option; if that option is exercised in full, the company said the final offer size would reach £582 million, or about 11% of the share capital at Admission. International Finance Corporation was allocated 34,285,714 shares for £67.2 million under a cornerstone agreement. Eight million of the 270 million base shares are earmarked for a U.K.-only retail offer through Retail Book's partner platforms.
Lock-ups and the London session for the parent
The company and selling shareholders agreed to 180-day lock-ups from Admission; directors agreed to 365-day lock-ups, subject to customary exceptions and waivers by the joint global coordinators.
Airtel Africa shares, ticker AAF.L, were last at 297.80 pence, down 11.80 pence, or 3.81%, on cnbc.com's structured quote during Friday's London session as the subsidiary's conditional book opened. That move is a parent-company print, not a substitute for an Airtel Money last price; an exchange last for AMC was not available in the materials used for this story.
CEO Ian Ferrao called the listing a "landmark moment" and said Airtel Money would stay focused on building what he described as Africa's leading digital financial-services platform.
